The Solega

About

The Solega are an adivasi community indigenous to the highlands of South Eastern Karnataka including Biligirirangan Hills. Also known as people of the bamboo, the Solega are a people who coexist in harmony with their natural environment and wildlife.

As part of Museum Week 2024, the Indian Music Experience Museum invites you to learn about the culture, language, and worldviews of the Solega community. Meet and interact with Solega elders and youth, who consider these forests a sacred and sentient landscape, and experience Solega culture through a presentation of their music and dance.

This program is presented in partnership with Punarchith and Rainmatter Foundation.

Youth:
