Future Museum Professionals Internship

About the Program

The Future Museum Professionals Internship (FMPI) offers to train six interns in the areas of curation, design, and development for an online platform for candidates aspiring to be museum professionals.

The need for museum professional’s adept in cutting edge interactive design and technology in the arts and cultural sector is growing and is here to stay.

This six-month internship by the Indian Music Experience Museum is supported by British Council as part of the Yuva in Culture initiative.

Positions Available

  • Content Developer
    Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to research, show attention to detail and have prior experience in developing content. Project management will be an added advantage.
  • Interface Designer
    Must be comfortable working with Adobe Photoshop and have prior experience in creating and implementing UI design.
  • Web Developer
    Full Stack Web Developer (experience with HTML, CSS, Javascript and comfortable with at least one backend stack)
  • Communication / Graphic Designer
    Must be comfortable working with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator and have a strong sense of aesthetics.

Who can apply?

  • Should be of the age group 20– 25 years.
  • Ready to commit to a fulltime in-person internship in Bangalore.
  • Should have an interest in the arts and culture.
  • Meet the requirements for the positions applied. Prior experience is an added advantage.

Why should I apply for this program?

Participants will receive a stipend of Rs. 15000 per month and a certificate of completion.

Timeline

  • Submit your applications on or before DEC 12,2021.
  • Internship commences on JAN 2, 2022.
  • Internship ends on June 30, 2022.
  • Dates will be updated as the internship progresses.

FAQ

Can I work remotely on the project?

No. This is an in-person internship.

What are my work timings?

Will follow normal office hours as the rest of the staff – a five-day week from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. You are entitled to a compensatory off if you are required to work on a Sunday. You are entitled to all public holidays on the museum’s calendar.

Can I apply to more than one position?

Is it necessary for content developers to be able to research on a topic and generate content?

Yes

What is the remuneration for the internship?

Remuneration for each person for the duration of five-months is Rs.15,000 per month.

Will you arrange for accommodation?

No. We will only assist you with providing suggestions for accommodation.

Should I bring my own laptop?

Yes. Your laptop should be able to support your work.

Do I get free access to the museum and its events?

Yes
