Remembering Ustad Rashid Khan (through Ragas)

IME invites you to an evening of Hindustani classical music in memory of Ustad Rashid Khan. In this concert, artist Debdeep Misra from Kolkata, will perform bandishes in ‘Vilambit Khayal’ gayaki — a style of classical singing that Ustad Rashid was known for — paying tribute to the maestros’ legacy in Hindustani music. Misra, whose musical journey is deeply influenced by Ustad Rashid Khan, will also share anecdotes about the artist’s imprint on ‘raga gayaki’ heritage from the perspective of an admirer, disciple, and practitioner of this vocal tradition.
