Guided Walk:Voices of Time

Led by IME’s Youth Advisory Board

Voices of Time is the first-ever exhibition put together by IME’s youngest curators – the Indian Music Experience Museum’s Youth Advisory Board. It weaves together the audience’s connection with the evolving culture of music and playback through three sections — Voices of the Past, Voices of Community, and Voices of the Future

To celebrate their very first exhibition, YAB’s fifth cohort of 14-to-17 year olds has put together two interactive walkthroughs on opening day. Both begin in the museum’s Reaching Out Gallery to set up the story of how music learned to travel across time, space, and communities.

Starting with a short skit, YAB brings together storytelling, role-play, and audience participation to journey through key moments in listening history, including wax cylinders, gramophones, radio, cassettes, Walkmans, MP3 players, and emerging technologies.

Join any one of the two slots while registering to explore how music travels through devices, but lives on through people.

About IME’s Youth Advisory Board:

The Youth Advisory Board is a one-of-its-kind programme developed by the Indian Music Experience Museum, initially in partnership with the British Council.

The programme brings together young adults, 14-to-17 years old, to actively participate in the museum’s functioning with a special focus on programmes, education, curation and communications.

The ReReeti Foundation has been managing the Youth Advisory Board for the Indian Music Experience Museum since its inception in 2021 with the team at IME.
