Puuluup
About
The Indian Music Experience Museum invites you to an evening of Estonian folk music featuring Puuluup.
2024 Eurovision finalists, Puuluup consists of Ramo Teder (also known as Pastacas) and Marko Veisson, who perform with the Hiiu kannel or Talharpa, a traditional bowed lyre from Estonia and Finland. This instrument typically has 3-4 horsehair strings and produces a distinctive droning sound characteristic of Nordic folk music. After nearly becoming extinct in the early 20th century, the Talharpa (Hiiu kannel) has experienced a revival in both traditional and contemporary music scenes. Formed in 2014, Puuluup’s music blends the Hiiu Kannel with electronic elements. Their innovative approach bridges traditional and contemporary music, appealing to a wide audience in Estonia and worldwide.
