Masterclass: Transcribing Indian Music notations to Western Music | Dr Jyotsna Srikanth | Feb 16, 2025 | 11 am – 2pm
In today’s music landscape, musicians must often be proficient in interpreting and translating notations between Indian and Western music styles to remain competitive. However, many Indian musicians who begin learning Western notation often lose motivation due to limited resources, unclear explanations, and an inability to resolve doubts.
Dr. Jyotsna Srikanth, an expert in both Karnatik and Western classical music, brings extensive experience in bridging these two systems effortlessly. She is offering participants a practical, hands-on workshop to enhance their skills in interpreting and transcribing notations across these styles.
The masterclass, conducted in a hybrid mode, is open to Indian music students (vocal and instrumental students) familiar with basic notations and western music students ((vocal and instrumental students) who can read and interpret basic notations.
