Ravi Shankar @ 100: Centennial Exhibition and Inaugural Concert
The Indian Music Experience Museum, Bangalore, an institutional affiliate of the GRAMMY Museum®, LA is curating a centennial exhibition (“Ravi Shankar @100: India’s Global Musician”) celebrating the life of renowned sitar maestro Pandit Ravi Shankar, with the support of the Ravi Shankar Foundation. The exhibition features his musical instruments, costumes and photographs along with listening stations and interactives, supported by interpretive graphic panels, that chronicle the life and work of the celebrated artiste. A special feature is an ‘experience zone’ with sound design by GRAMMY® award winner Ricky Kej.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Saturday, 7th March at the IME Museum in Bangalore. The inauguration was followed by a concert by Ravi Shankar’s disciple, GRAMMY award winner Vishwamohan Bhatt on the mohan veena, accompanied by tabla maestro Bickram Ghosh.

Ravi Shankar was a truly international artiste,at the same time 5rmly rooted in the Hindustani music tradition. We hope that our interpretation of his life will inspire people to engage more deeply with Indianclassical music.”
