Bhumika L Madhusudan\nJISR, which means “Bridge” in Arabic, brings together three musicians: two of the best known contemporary artists from Bengaluru pianist and composer Aman Mahajan, percussionist Kartik Mani, and composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist from Morocco, Mohcine Ait Ramdam. Their aim, to make music a living place of diversity, movement and lived connection.\nThis collaborative project brings together the shared pulse of music between North Africa and South India with the freedom of jazz to the Indian Music Experience Museum for a one-time only concert in the city. Joining the trio as a special guest is Bengaluru-based Carnatic vocalist Bhumika L Madhusudan.\nWith the deep, earthy sound of the gembri – a Gnawa base lute from North African, at its heart, and Carnatic and folk singing woven into the mix, this performance brings distinct musical traditions and heritage songs into unexpected conversation. Expect intricate Gnawa trance rhythms, Carnatic melody, spontaneous percussion exchanges and resonant vocals. \nWith JISR, we invite you to bridge the middle of your week with music from around the world. \nAbout the artists\n\n\n \n\nDr. Mohcine Ramdan\nBetween Marrakech, Munich and the sound worlds of global jazz, Mohcine Ait Ramdan has developed a musical language that moves consistently between cultures. The composer, singer and multi-instrumentalist combines North African traditions with spiritual jazz, improvised music and contemporary sound forms to create a sound that is both archaic and modern.\nAs the founder of JISR, Mohcine sees music as a place of encounter. His compositions tell of migration, memory, spirituality and cultural movement – without subordinate to musical categories.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nAman Mahajan\nAman Mahajan is an Indian pianist and composer known for his solo and collaborative work across diverse musical forms. A voyager through musical realms, he approaches improvisation as a medium for interaction, expression and exchange. His music draws inspiration from personal experience, philosophy, and a rich tapestry of traditional and contemporary influences.\nOver the past two decades, he has collaborated widely across the creative spectrum, driven by a restless search for musical and stylistic exploration. \nAman’s personal music project REFUGE pays homage to inward journeys, exploring the ever-evolving idea of home through compositions that balance careful craft and free improvisation.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nKarthik Mani\nKarthik is a world percussionist and drummer with a solid foundation in South Indian classical music. As a child, he was surrounded by music, as there were many students from all over the world learning at their school, the Karnataka College of Percussion. He started learning vocals from his mother and mridangam from his father, the legendary TAS Mani. Karthik Mani has performed alongside some of India’s and the world’s most celebrated musicians, including Ustad Zakir Hussain, Dr L. Subramaniam and Mandolin U. Srinivas, and jazz saxophonist Charlie Mariano. He is the first Indian percussionist to win the Independent World Music Award for World Fusion with Lehera. Karthik has worked extensively in the fields of Carnatic music, talavadya, pop, jazz, funk, light music, folk, jugalbandhis, theatre, movies, jingles, fusion, world music, traditional dance, contemporary dance and DJs, among others. Karthik also has students globally and trains them on instruments as varied as congas, drums, ghatam, mridangam, cajon, khanjira, konnakol, frame drums and electronic drum pads.\nHis international performance credits include Java Jazz Festival, Ruhrtriennale and Bangkok Jazz Festival, alongside collaborations spanning Carnatic, jazz and global fusion music.\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\nBhumika L Madhusudan\nBhumika L Madhusudan is a Bengaluru-based Carnatic vocalist and multilingual playback singer who has performed over 700 concerts across India and internationally. Trained under Vidushi S. Yashasvi from the age of eight, she is a graded artiste of All India Radio and the winner of Gaana Chandana, a national-level singing competition on Doordarshan Chandana. Her accolades include the Kalashri State Award (2012) and the Exceptional Achievement Award (2017) from the Government of Karnataka. Alongside classical music, she has recorded for Kannada cinema and performs across diverse musical genres\n\n\nDate and time: 04 November 2026, Wednesday 06:00 PM\nVenue: IME Museum,JP Nagar 7th phase,Bengaluru – 560078\nRegistration: Click Here\nTicket: Free[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]\n
