Having welcomed over 400,000 visitors, IME has become a beloved Bengaluru landmark, connecting communities through the power of music.\nTo honor seven years of resilience and milestones, IME is celebrating music’s ability to cross borders and build bridges. Fittingly, Bengaluru’s own global icon, Dr. L. Subramaniam, will lead a definitive world music ensemble.\nCurated as a retrospective of the maestro’s career, the performance features seminal moments in India’s cross-over music history. Audiences will experience live renditions from his legendary album Conversations (featured in the IME galleries), the nostalgic theme music of the TV series Surabhi, and his evocative soundtrack for Mira Nair’s masterpiece, Salaam Bombay!\n\nThe Maestro\n\n       \nDr. L. Subramaniam – Global Violin Icon\nHailed as the “God of Indian Violin” and “arguably the greatest violinist in the history of Indian music,” Dr. L. Subramaniam has redefined his instrument on the world stage. Praised by Lord Yehudi Menuhin as “inspiring” and The New York Times as the best they had ever heard, he was a child prodigy who earned the title Violin Chakravarti by age 25.\nSpanning more than six decades, his career includes mastering Carnatic and Western classical traditions, pioneering global fusion in the 1970s, and producing over 200 recordings. Dr. Subramaniam has written major symphonic works premiered by the New York Philharmonic and Houston Symphony, and scored films like Salaam Bombay and Little Buddha. His historic collaborations span George Harrison, Stevie Wonder, Yehudi Menuhin, and Herbie Hancock. As the founder of the Lakshminarayana Global Music Festival, the Padma Vibhushan laureate stands as a true cultural ambassador carrying the Indian violin to the world.\n\n\n\nThe Ensemble\n\n    \n\nFrijo Francis (Keyboards)\nAn accomplished pianist and composer trained in Western classical music, Frijo blends Indian musical traditions with contemporary jazz. As the founder of *Frijo’s Not Yet Jazz*, he is regarded as one of India’s leading fusion keyboardists, known for his dynamic stage presence and cross-cultural collaborations.\n\n\n\n    \n\nAlwyn Fernandes (Guitar)\nA highly sought-after guitarist and composer, Alwyn navigates diverse musical traditions with technical finesse and rhythmic sophistication. His ability to seamlessly blend jazz, contemporary, and world music makes him an integral part of modern fusion projects both in India and internationally.\n\n\n\n    \n\nKeith Peters (Bass Guitar)\nOne of India’s most respected bass guitarists, Keith is renowned for his impeccable groove and dynamic energy. Over a career spanning several decades, his musical sensitivity has made him a prominent figure in major international music festivals and premier global collaborations.\n\n\n\n\n    \n\nNirmalya “Humtoo” Dey (Flute)\nCarrying forward a distinguished musical legacy from Kolkata, Humtoo has developed a unique voice rooted in Indian classical traditions while embracing world music. Known for his expressive tone, he has performed with celebrated maestros like Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and leading playback artists.\n\n\n\n    \n\nPt. Tanmoy Bose (Tabla)\nA foremost figure in contemporary world music, Tanmoy was a regular globe-trotting accompanist to the legendary Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar and performs extensively with Ustad Amjad Ali Khan. He currently lends his world-class Farukkabad gharana mastery to Dr. Subramaniam’s world music projects.\n\n\n\n    \n\nRamanamurthy VV (Mridangam)\nA 4th-generation child prodigy holding All India Radio’s rare TOP GRADE, the award-winning “Mridanga Ratna” has spent four decades performing alongside top Carnatic, Hindustani, and jazz artists, bringing rich traditional mastery to contemporary stages.\n\n\n\n    \n\nJeoraj George (Drums)\nTrained at DrumTech (UK), Jeoraj is an accomplished drummer and educator known for his rhythmic sophistication and improvisational energy. He is a premier fixture in India’s fusion scene, collaborating with icons like A.R. Rahman and Dr. L. Subramaniam.\n\n\n\n    \n\nSupriya Bhattacharya (Congas)\nA versatile Kolkata-based percussionist, Supriya seamlessly blends traditional Indian techniques with modern musical expressions.
